About the Author
Prof. S. K. Ramachandra Rao, the editor of the Encyclopaedia and the author of this volume, was trained in the Indian Institute of Science, and has been the Head of the Department of Clinical Psychology, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences, Bangalore; Professor of Indian Studies, Callison College Study Centre of the University of the Pacific (USA); Director of the Project for the study of Consciousness, SAVS Scientific Research Academy; Chairman of a section in the Kannada Encyclopaedia project of the Mysore University; and Visiting Professor, Bangalore University.
