Teach Yourself Hindi (EPZ) By Snell and Weightman is a book that is designed to explain the basics of Hindi language to the readers so that they can understand and speak the language without any hiccups. The book aims to teach conversational Hindi, and the language is approached in a pragmatic manner. It also gives an insight into Urdu to the readers. There are a total of 18 sections in this book. The thrust in every chapter is on conversational Hindi, although grammar is also introduced in a systematic manner. This book has introduced Hindi in Roman script in the initial five units to make it easier for those who are in early stages of learning Hindi. Teach Yourself Hindi (EPZ) covers all the main aspects of grammar, and these are explained in a simple manner. Two cassettes accompany this book, and there also working exercises with solutions.

Rupert Snell is presently a Professor in Hindi in the Department of Asian Studies, Texas. He is author of books such as The Eighty Four Hymns of Hita Harivamsa and The Hindi Classical Tradition: A Braj Bhasa Reader. He is the Director of the Hindi Urdu Flagship. The author also served at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. Dr. Simon Weightman is a Research Associate at the Department of Study Of Religions, and he has co-authored many books on Hindi with Rupert Snell.
